I am an Afghan American born and raised in Kabul, where I learned basic tenets of cooking from my late mother as a child and continue to follow in her footsteps to this day.

I enjoy sharing the recipes with my husband Fawad and my children Omar and Eva in our Moreno Valley kitchen.

I have a B.A. in English from Kabul University, M.A. in Education, and a Teaching Diploma from American University of Beirut.

I shared some of the 225 Afghan recipes that I compiled through the years with nearly 200,000 friends, followers, fans, and members, which in turn generated more than 2 million cumulative likes.

My passion for cooking and my green thumb together have allowed me to retrieve and compile many traditional recipes, utilizing organic fruits and vegetables, originating in Afghanistan, some picked from my very own backyard in California.
